Privacy Policy — Localization Guard

Effective date: July 21, 2026 · Developer: Quietsmith · Contact: support@quietsmith.com

Summary: Localization Guard is a read-only quality assurance tool for Shopify Markets. It reads store content to report localization issues. It does not access customer personal data, does not modify your store, and does not sell or share data with third parties.

Information we access

When you install Localization Guard, we request read-only Shopify permissions to access:

We do not request or access: customer personal data, orders, payment information, or analytics. Shopify may include authenticated store-owner details in session data used to operate the embedded app.

How we use information

Store content is read to generate QA findings (missing translations, untranslated URLs, metafield gaps, changed protected terms) and a market readiness score. Findings are shown to you in the app and can be exported by you as CSV.

What we store

We store the Shopify session data required to keep the app installed and authenticated. We do not store copies of product content, scan findings, CSV exports, or protected terms. Scan results remain in the active browser view, and CSV files are generated when you choose to export them.

What we never do

Data retention and deletion

When the app is uninstalled, its active Shopify sessions are deleted. We also authenticate and respond to Shopify's mandatory shop/redact, customers/data_request, and customers/redact webhooks. Because the app does not collect customer personal data, there is no customer content to return or erase.

Security

All communication with Shopify uses HTTPS. Access to production systems is limited to the developer, and all requested API permissions are read-only.

Changes

We will update this policy if the app's data practices change, and note the new effective date above. Material changes will be announced in the app.
