Summary: n8n Handoff Pack is a client-side web tool for n8n freelancers and agencies. It runs entirely in your browser. It does not collect, store, or transmit your workflow data, node parameters, credential references, or any other part of your n8n export to our servers. The only data transmitted off-device is your Gumroad license key for Pro verification.

What the tool processes

n8n Handoff Pack reads n8n workflow export files (JSON) that you load from your local disk. All parsing, analysis, risk scanning, and Markdown generation happen in JavaScript running in your browser tab. The workflow data — node names, types, parameters, credential references, webhook paths, variables, and notes — is never sent to any server.

What is sent over the network

Pro license key verification: If you activate Pro, your Gumroad license key is sent to Gumroad's public API (api.gumroad.com/v2/licenses/verify) to confirm the purchase. This request contains the license key and a product identifier. It does not contain any part of your workflow data.
Page-level analytics: The hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) may collect anonymous, aggregate page-view statistics (page URL, country, browser type). This is standard web hosting analytics and contains no information about the content of any workflow you analyze.

No other network requests are made by the tool. There is no telemetry, no tracking scripts, and no third-party analytics code embedded in the application.

What is stored on your device

Pro license key: A validated license key and its verification timestamp are stored in your browser's localStorage under the key n8n-handoff-pack:license. This keeps Pro unlocked across browser sessions. Clearing your browser data or localStorage removes it.

No workflow data, analysis results, or export files are stored in localStorage, cookies, IndexedDB, or any other persistent browser storage. When you close or reload the tab, the workflow data is gone.

What we never do

We never upload, transmit, or store your workflow JSON or any part of its contents (node parameters, credential references, webhook paths, variable names, or risk scan findings).
We never connect to your n8n instance or your client's.
We never collect personal information, email addresses, or account data (there is no account to create).
We never track your browsing behavior, file names, or usage patterns beyond anonymous page-view counts from the hosting provider.
We never sell, rent, or share any data with third parties.
We never use your workflow data to train AI models.

Third-party services

For payments and license verification, we use Gumroad. The tool is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. No other third-party APIs, scripts, or tracking services are integrated into this tool.

Data retention and deletion

Workflow data exists only in browser memory for the duration of your tab session. Closing or reloading the tab clears it completely. The only persistent item is the Pro license key in localStorage, which you can delete at any time by clearing your browser's site data. There is nothing to uninstall and no account to close.

Changes

We will update this policy if the tool's data practices change, and note the new effective date above.
