Amazon Flat File Preflight

Find the errors before Seller Central does.

Upload a flat file with a duplicate SKU or a broken parent–child link and Amazon rejects it hours later, in a processing report written for machines. This checks the file on your own computer first, in seconds, and tells you which row is wrong.

Why this one

Your catalog never leaves your machine.

Every other tool in this category asks you to create an account and upload your product data to their servers. This one does the parsing in your browser. There is no server to upload to, because there is no server.

Nothing is uploaded

The file is read in the browser tab. Your SKUs, prices, and supplier data stay on your disk. Close the tab and nothing remains anywhere.

No account to create

No email, no password, no onboarding call. Open the page, drop the file, read the results.

One payment, not a subscription

Pay once and large-file checks stay unlocked. No renewal, no expiry, nothing to cancel later.

What it checks

The errors that actually break bulk uploads.

Deliberately not a full validator. It looks for the structural mistakes that cause a rejected feed, not for every rule in Amazon's category templates.

01
Duplicate SKUsThe same seller SKU appearing on more than one row — the quiet cause of overwritten listings.
02
Broken parent–child relationshipsChildren pointing at a parent SKU that isn't in the file, parents declared as children, and orphaned variations.
03
Variation theme mismatchesA parent and its children declaring different variation themes — one of the most common feed rejections.
04
Suspicious prices and quantitiesBlank, zero, negative, or wildly out-of-range values that pass Amazon's format check and cause real damage after they go live.

It reports what it finds and links each finding to the row. It does not edit your file, fix anything for you, or promise that Amazon will accept the upload — only that these specific errors aren't in it.

Honest comparison

When to use something else.

Guides

The errors, explained properly.

Written for the problem, not for the product. Useful whether or not you ever buy anything here.

Error 8016: your parent and child don't agree on the variation themeWhat the message actually means, the four causes in the order worth checking, and the Seller Central trap that breaks families you already fixed.
Duplicate SKUs: the flat file error you never getNo code, no rejection, no warning. The last row wins, and you find out from the price. Includes the spreadsheet formula to catch them.
Questions

Before you buy

Does my product data get uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is parsed by JavaScript running in your browser tab. The only network request the tool makes is to verify your license key with Gumroad after purchase — that request contains the key and nothing else.
Does the license expire?
No. You pay once and it stays unlocked. You can activate the same key on up to five devices; if you hit that because of reinstalls, email support and we'll reset it.
What file formats does it read?
The CSV, TSV, and Excel exports Seller Central produces for category templates.
Will it guarantee Amazon accepts my upload?
No, and be sceptical of anything that says it will. Amazon rejects feeds for category-specific reasons no third party can fully predict. This finds a specific set of structural errors that are common, expensive, and easy to miss.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Email support@quietsmith.com and we'll refund it — that's why the free tier exists, so you can check it works on your data first.
